The IU Athletic Department recently named sophomore point guard Whitney Lindsay as one of two IU Scholar Athletes for the month of October.

Lindsay, a Mansfield, Ohio native, saw action in 33 games during her freshman year and scored a career high 8 points against Michigan State on Feb. 14.

Coach Felisha Legette-Jack had the following to say about her player in an IU press release:

"Whitney did a tremendous job last year with her academics, but she was not satisfied. She felt that she could do more," IU head women's basketball coach Felisha Legette-Jack said. "She has made even greater strides to becoming a better student-athlete this year. I am thrilled that our Department of Athletics has recognized her strong efforts. I am always proud of her and I am so happy for her accomplishments thus far"
