Daniel Higgs; The Bishop Wednesday The name's Higgs. Daniel Acrus Incus Ululat Higgs. And with a name like this, it's no wonder that this gangly, metaphysical legend can put out surrealist and albums with esoteric names such as "Atomic Yggdrasil Tarot." But Higgs is more than an icon with a penchant for Nordic mysticism; before dropping into his reclusive solo career, he provided the Johnny Rotten-esque vocals for the folk/punk band Lungfish.
Maserati; The Bishop Wednesday, 9:30 Maserati would like you to believe that they're as "sleep and sexy and sophisticated" as the car from which their name is taken, and they're probably right.

Chris Angel; Rachael's Cafe Friday, 8:00 PM This is some of the easiest music to swallow. The Cell Phones; The Bishop Friday, MIDNIGHT Here are the ambitions of this three-piece suit from Chicago: "we aspire to be the wealthiest band in the world and one day perform on the moon." You have to admire the confidence, even though there's not a whole lot of lyricism in the Cell Phones.
Keller Williams; The Bluebird Thursday, 9 PM If you haven't had the chance to read Live Buzz's interview with this cutting-edge bluegrass/soul performer suffice to say that it's one concert you won't want to miss.
Keller Williams began teaching himself guitar before his teens, and was playing his first paid gigs before graduating high school.

The High Jump Heart; Rachael's Cafe Friday, 8 PM Meet The High Jump Heart: three indie musicians with a delightful ability to capture the idyllic nostalgia of carefree days.
For the week of 10/8 through 10/14/2012 1. Ty Segall, Twins (Drag City) 2. Tame Impala, Lonerism (Modular) 3.
Here Come the Mummies; The Bluebird Friday, 9:00 PM There's a strange anomaly that exists the funk/R&B music of these undead master musicians.
