IU suffers 4-game sweep by Nittany Lions

A four-game sweep certainly could not have been what the IU baseball team envisioned when it headed to Penn State looking to break a five-game losing streak. But the bad became worse for the Hoosiers as the Nittany Lions sank IU (15-22, 4-12) further into the Big Ten cellar.

Campus event keeps ‘a child alive’

Cornhole and volunteering formed a perfect match Saturday at Alumni Hall in the Indiana Memorial Union. The Lutheran Campus Ministry at IU held its second annual Campus Cornhole Championship, raising $1,500 for Keep a Child Alive. Keep a Child Alive raises money to combat AIDS in Africa.

Students race rubber ducks for a wish

Bright yellow and orange balloons, games and rubber duck racing took over Dunn Meadow on Sunday. Alpha Phi Omega’s 18th annual Rubber Duck Regatta brought Bloomington residents together, providing free family fun for a good cause.

Using IU’s logo a no-go?

When former President Bill Clinton spoke here endorsing Sen. Hillary Clinton, the IU logo appeared behind him in newspaper photos. Because of this, some members of the IU administration expressed concern that people would mistake this as an endorsement for Hillary Clinton. IU Chancellor Ken Gros Louis said the IU trident should not appear at any political events because “it’s just confusing to the public for a political candidate making a speech with an IU logo behind him or her, because it gives the impression that the University is supporting the candidate.”
