Disability Services for Students organized an information fair Thursday at Herman B Wells Library as the kickoff to Disability Awareness Month, with many IU and Bloomington groups participating.
Some 30 people occupied Dunn Meadow on Thursday to protest what they believe to be critical problems with traditional schooling. The event, which was for the National Day of Action for Education, was organized in solidarity with the Occupy Movement.
Junior Sarah Beal is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. Theta is home to more than 100 girls, and life in the house varies greatly from Beal’s living situation last year. Dr. György Szapáry, Hungary’s ambassador to the United States, will visit IU from March 7-9 and will present a free public lecture and will also attend the annual commemoration of the 1848 Hungarian Revolution.
Local IU music artists will show off their talents to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals on Friday during dePHI the MUsic. The annual event, sponsored by Phi Mu, will take place from 5:30 p.m. to midnight at BuffaLouie’s on South Indiana Avenue and will feature all-you-can-eat wings and live acoustic music. Money collected will directly benefit Riley Hospital for Children.
