Indiana receives No Child Left Behind waiver

President Barack Obama announced today that Indiana and nine other states will receive a No Child Left Behind waiver. This will give these states the ability to change how they prepare and evaluate students.

IU looks for first road win against Oklahoma

Despite being competitive in its first two road matches, IU returned home empty-handed in both cases, failing to register a single point at Kentucky or Ohio State. This weekend, the team will travel to the Sooner State in search of its first away victory in a Sunday showdown with No. 19 Oklahoma.

Teachers raise concerns with right-to-work law

Rick Muir, president of the Indiana Federation of Teachers, said right-to-work policies have caused problems for teachers that will become more widespread in workers across the state.

Community garden opens rental plots

As of Feb. 1, Bloomington residents who seek gardening space outside their homes could sign on for another year of community growing. The community gardening program through the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department rents more than 200 plots to Bloomington residents from April through October.
