IU tries to end a 67-year drought at Big Tens

Forty-seven nationally ranked wrestlers, eight teams in the top 25, and 21 out of the last 30 National Championship teams are just a few reasons why the Big Ten is the best wrestling conference in the country.

IU up to bat in Music City

The Hoosiers will travel to Nashville, Tenn., this weekend for the Music City Classic after taking one out of three games at the Big Ten/Big East Challenge. IU (2-5) will face Illinois State (4-3) and Kent State (4-2) before rounding out the weekend with Vanderbilt (7-1) on Sunday.

iUnity challenges Elections Commission’s control of polling locations

iUnity’s attempt to reserve several high-traffic polling locations during the upcoming IU Student Association election was disputed at an IUSA Supreme Court hearing Wednesday night. The Court heard arguments and will allow evidence to be submitted until 5 p.m. today. A decision will be reached tonight on whether or not to impose an injunction.

It was Senior Night at Mackey Arena on Wednesday, and Tom Crean’s Hoosiers essentially served as a prop in Purdue’s festivities. The Purdue fans bid their farewells to seniors Chris Kramer, Keaton Grant and some guy named Mark Wahlford. The Hoosiers, meanwhile, said hello to their second consecutive 20-loss season in the 74-55 defeat.

Regardless of the odds it faced in the past two seasons, this Hoosier squad never seemed intimidated. That changed during the first trip to Mackey Arena in the Tom Crean’s era as IU coach in a 74-55 loss Wednesday.

Peace Corps vet urges student activism

At the informational meeting in the atrium of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs on Wednesday night as part of Peace Corps Week, Peace Corps alumnus Jeff Rhodes was simply an advocate for the program, presenting his experiences to a small crowd of about 20 potential applicants.
