Roberson still committed

Lawrence Central quarterback Tre Roberson is still committed to IU, according to reports by The Indianapolis Star and Bloomington Herald-Times. IU football: What Glass was looking for

Along with a statement announcing the terms of Kevin Wilson's contract (seven years, $1.2 million a year), IU athletics director Fred Glass attached a list of the qualities he was looking for in a potential coach. Oklahoma offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson will be named IU's next head football coach at a 4 p.m. press conference today, IU athletics director Fred Glass confirmed to the IDS.

If IU doesn't hire Oklahoma offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson to be its next football coach, I would be completely surprised. A charter plane left Indianapolis this morning for Norman, Okla.

Hot shooting leads IU past Savannah State, 79-57

Following its first loss of the season, the IU men's basketball needed an opponent it could beat convincingly to get back on track. Savannah State fit that bill perfectly. The Hoosiers (7-1) shot a blistering 55 percent from the floor to throttle the lowly Tigers (1-9) 79-57 on Saturday at Assembly Hall. "Probably the thing I'm most excited about with this group, is there was really strong resolve coming off a loss," Crean said.

IU volleyball advances to 1st NCAA Sweet 16

IU volleyball beat Tennessee in five sets Saturday afternoon to send them to their first NCAA Sweet 16. The Hoosiers put away the Volunteers with a thrilling late rally in the final set, scoring seven of the last 10 points to win the match after trailing 10-8 at University Gym.

Kinser, Powless advance to third-place matches

Kurt Kinser and Matt Powless have each bounced back from losses in the semi-finals to qualify for third-place matches. Kinser avenged a loss last weekend to Ivan Lopouchanski of North Carolina-Greensboro with a 9-4 decision today.

Las Vegas Update

The second day at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational has not started well for IU wrestlers. Both Kurt Kinser and and Matt Powless dropped their semifinal matches, but remain alive in the consolation bracket. Kinser has a rematch against Ivan Lopouchanski of North Carolina-Greensboro who he lost to at the Hoosier Duals last weekend.

Wrestling tied for ninth after Day 1 of Las Vegas Invitational

Senior Kurt Kinser and junior Matt Powless each remain in contention for first in their weight classes as the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational enters its second and final day. Kinser, at 149 pounds, will face third-ranked Jason Chamberlain of Boise State in the semi-finals while Powless gets the top seed at 197 pounds, Cam Simaz of Cornell.

OU's Stoops denies Kevin Wilson-to-IU rumors

The first few stories featuring the ever-popular "unidentified sources" and their naming of potential hires for IU football's vacant head coaching job have begun to surface. One in particular has a well-known coach flatly denying any such report. A number of sources -- notably a web site named Football Rumor Mill and ESPN.com's Pat Forde -- have indicated Oklahoma offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson is at the top of the pack for the job in Bloomington.
