If IU doesn't hire Oklahoma offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson to be its next football coach, I would be completely surprised.
A charter plane left Indianapolis this morning for Norman, Okla. and returned to Indy at 11:12 a.m. Wilson is believed to have been on that plane, perhaps to finalize the deal in Bloomington.
At this point, we still don't know when a formal announcement will be made. The team meets at 3 p.m. tomorrow, so IU athletics director Fred Glass may use that time to inform the players of his decision.
As always, stay posted to idsnews.com and the "Hoosier Hype" blog for all things IU football.
Update: 12:30 a.m.
Two sources told me earlier this evening that Wilson, contrary to other reports, was indeed in Bloomington today touring the facilities. The sources I talked to saw Wilson talking to Glass in the North Endzone.
Terry Hutchens of The Indianapolis Star is reporting Wilson will be named head coach at a press conference 4 p.m. Tuesday, but we have been unable to confirm that report. We will stay on top of the situation and bring you more as soon as we know.
