A source with knowledge of the situation said Saturday that former Miami (Fl.) coach Randy Shannon has not been contacted by IU athletics director Fred Glass. The source also said Shannon is "very interested" in the opening if Glass were to reach out to him.
If rumors are true, however, Glass is interested in somebody who has coached in the Big Ten, even if that individual has never been a head coach. Glass has reportedly interviewed Oklahoma offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson, Michigan State offensive coordinator Don Treadwell and Wisconsin defensive coordinator Dave Doeren.
Even though Wilson is not currently coaching the the Big Ten, he served as the offensive coordinator at Northwestern from 1999-2001. Wilson has been rumored to be the odds-on favorite to win the job.
