ITT results

Some notes from this evening's ITTs: - The top men's times were much faster than last year. Clayton Feldman of the Cutters finished 11th this year with a time (2:23.51) faster than his 5th-place time last year (2:23.57). - Notable names outside the top 10 include Feldman and Phi Delta Theta's Nick Sovinski (15th - he finished 2nd last year). "I just blew up the first two laps and died the second two," Sovinski said after the race.

Hewitt sets ITT record

Quick update here. I'm trying to get my full wrap written for tomorrow's paper, as well... - Wing It's Kristi Hewitt set a new women's ITT track record with an unofficial time of 2:34.00.

Hulls, Elston named AP first team all-state

Bloomington South guard Jordan Hulls and Tipton forward Derek Elston were each named first team all-Indiana by The Associated Press. The 2009 IU recruits were joined by Scott Wood from Marion (North Carolina State), D.J.

Hoosiers going to Italy, Bahamas

The IU women's basketball team has some trips planned for the summer and fall that fans are invted to attend. From May 15-May 25 the team will tour Italy. Over Thanksgiving they will play in a tourament in the Bahams For more information click the links below: Italy Bahamas

Miss N' Out Favorites

Here's a list of returners that were in the top 16 of last year's Miss N' Out. Members of the list were on both sides of the bracket, so there's no way to effectively place anyone who didn't make it to the finals.

Crimson Club to cater to IU students

If a true college atmosphere wasn't enough reason, IU Athletics will begin to reward students who regularly attend sporting events on campus this fall with prizes. Through a rewards program called the Crimson Club, students who go to enough games will be eligible for prizes such as laptop computers, lunch with select Hoosier head coaches and a 42" HDTV. Students can accumulate points by swiping their University ID card at athletic events they attend, whether it's a football game or a non-revenue sport.

Thanks for the Memories

From the 93-49 victory over Southern Indiana to start the season to the victory over Purdue, to the tip in with 0.2 seconds left there were plenty of memorable moments in the 2008-2009 IU women's basketball season. Personally I'm a little sad to see it end.

Smith commits to UConn; Crean done for '09?

Top Chicago point guard prospect Darius Smith committed to Connecticut on Monday night, ending any speculation that IU coach Tom Crean might add the 6-foot-2 senior to the Hoosiers roster. Despite freshman Malik Story transferring out of the program, IU has no remaining scholarships to award for the 2009-10 campaign.

Individual Time Trials

Some things to watch for the ITTs coming up on Wednesday: Returning Finishers: MEN 2nd - Nick Sovinski, Phi Delta Theta: 2:22.49 3rd - Eric Young, Cutters: 2:22.84 5th - Clayton Feldman, Cutters: 2:23.57 7th - Kenny Parks, Team Major Taylor: 2:23.80 WOMEN 1st - Kristi Hewitt, Wing It: 2:36.66 3rd - Jennifer Balbach, Kappa Delta: 2:41.40 5th - Caitlin Van Kooten, Teter: 2:41.82 6th - Jenna Cerone, Kappa Delta: 2:43.00 Hewitt ran away with the ITTs for women last year, beating the next best competitor by nearly two tenths of a second and looks to be the strongest of the women's riders in this year's ITT competition.

Lambda Chi Alpha

Lambda Chi Alpha was a first-year team this year who failed to qualify for the race with a time of 2:50.59.

Today's game cancelled

This afternoon's matchup between IU and Minnesota will not be held due to inclement weather. The game will not be made up, resulting in a 1-1 split of the season series. The Hoosiers will take on Chicago State on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
