Soccer team adds new recruit

Ambry Moss, a native of Providence, Bahamas, has just signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the IU men's soccer team this fall. Moss joins other members of the 2010 recruiting class consisting of: Kerel Bradford, Ryan Bristol, Jacob Bushue, Nikita Kotlov, Dyan Lax, Matt Mckain, Harrison Petts, Taylor Reeves and Blake Wise. Moss has spent his last three years at the IMG Academy in Florida, and helped the IMG squad to a third-place finish at the U-18 Development Academy National Championship in July 2009.

New diver to join team in fall

Santa Margarita High School diver, Conor Murphy,will be joining the squad in the fall of 2010. Per IU: He finished fifth on the 1-meter at the 2010 South Coast League Championships and was victorious at the Second Annual Santa Margarita Catholic High School Invitational.

Men's basketball gpa over 3.0

The IU men's basketball team has achieved a 3.16 GPA for the spring semester, according to coach Tom Crean. Crean posted this to his twitter: I know this wont be big news in some circles but our team Grade point average for the semester is a 3.16!!!!!! Thats awesome news!

More information on Men's Golf going to Central Regional

I thought I would add some information about the men's golf team being selected to the NCAA Central Regional along with some updates on the Hoosiers as they prepare for the tournament. First off the NCAA Men's Golf Championship is broken down into 6 regionals, each of which will send 5 teams and the low individual on non-advancing teams to the NCAA Championships on June 1-6 near Chattanooga, Tenn. Ticket deal for recent IU grads

As a recent graduate myself, I know that I was planning on coming to at least two football games next season, and had already asked a few people if they would buy me a student ticket so I could afford to go (journalism major, student loans, you do the math), and had planned on keeping my student ID so I could essentially cheat the system. Now that's not even necessary, as IU is offering a seriously sweet deal on football tickets for recent graduates.

Hoosiers move into top 25 rankings

The IU women's track and field team has moved up 12 spots in this weeks U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division I National Team Rankings, from #34 to #22. Only two other Big Ten schools are ranked in the Women's top 25, Penn State at #8 and Illinois at #17. On the men's side, only one Big Ten team, Penn State at #24, is ranked within the top 25.

Men's golf headed to NCAA regionals

The Hoosiers have qualified for the NCAA tourney for the 6th time in the last 7 seasons. They will play in the Central Regional, which will be played at The Warren Golf Course May 20-22.

Women's basketball adds Hawaii recruit

The IU women's basketball team looks to be adding more frontcourt depth with its latest signing. Milika Taufa, a 6-foot forward from Lahaina, Hawaii, put her John Hancock on a national letter of intent to join the Hoosiers for the 2010-11 season, according to a press release from IUHoosiers.com. Taufa becomes the third member of IU's 2010-11 recruiting class, joining Andrea Newbauer of Ft.

6-foot-4, 175 lb guard visits IU

Hamilton Southeastern guard Gary Harris Jr took an unofficial visit to IU on Thursday, according to peegs. Harris would be a member of the 2012 class, and has been offered a scholarship.

Softball team loses final road game

After the players received their first win against Purdue in college, the team was defeated 5-0 in the final road game of the season. The Hoosiers went 4-25 in the shutout loss to the Boilermakers.

Seniors beat Purdue for the first time

The IU softball team has beat Purdue for the first time since 2006, with their 3-2 win in West Lafayette. IU started out quickly, with a 3-0 lead in the first inning, and Senior Monica Wright(4-12) pitched her 6th complete game, allowing only two hits and only one earned run. The Hoosiers will close out the series with a Sunday game at Purdue.
