The IU softball team has beat Purdue for the first time since 2006, with their 3-2 win in West Lafayette.
IU started out quickly, with a 3-0 lead in the first inning, and Senior Monica Wright(4-12) pitched her 6th complete game, allowing only two hits and only one earned run.
The Hoosiers will close out the series with a Sunday game at Purdue.
