The IU women's basketball team looks to be adding more frontcourt depth with its latest signing.
Milika Taufa, a 6-foot forward from Lahaina, Hawaii, put her John Hancock on a national letter of intent to join the Hoosiers for the 2010-11 season, according to a press release from IUHoosiers.com.
Taufa becomes the third member of IU's 2010-11 recruiting class, joining Andrea Newbauer of Ft. Wayne, Ind. and Simone Deloach of Round Rock, Texas.
Taufa was two-time First Team All-State selection at Lahainaluna High School, whom she led to the Hawaii state title her senior season. She earned Most Outstanding Player honors for the state playoffs.
Given her senior season statistics (15.3 points per game and 9.1 rebounds per game), Taufa could be a reliable addition to the Hoosiers' frontcourt and could help the team's leading rebounders, forwards Sasha Chaplin, Hope Elam and Danilsa Andujar, with aggressive play off the boards, something coach Felisha Legette-Jack has wanted to see.
