Hamilton Southeastern guard Gary Harris Jr took an unofficial visit to IU on Thursday, according to peegs.
Harris would be a member of the 2012 class, and has been offered a scholarship. Other schools including Cincinnati, IUPUI, Illinois, Minnesota, Vanderbilt, and Xavier also have offered. Florida, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Purdue are reportedly interested, but have not offered.
Unfortunately, for the die hard Hoosier fans, both of his parents are Purdue grads and his mother was a very successful basketball player at Purdue as well. But Purdue already has three commits for their 2012 recruiting class, and may not have as much interest in Harris as the other Big Ten schools looking at him.
Harris also plays football, and the wide receiver has been getting interest from the IU football team as well.
Harris will return to Bloomington this weekend for the adidas May Classic, and will be playing for the D3 Heat.
