Bloomington Watercolor Society will present their winter exhibit “We Paint…Van Gogh’s World!” starting Friday.

The exhibit will feature original paintings inspired by artist Vincent Van Gogh at the Vault at Gallery Mortgage at 121 E. Sixth St. The exhibit will be on display until March 28.

On Friday, there will be an opening reception and full gallery walk from 5-8 p.m. Starting Saturday, the exhibit can be viewed virtually on the Bloomington Watercolor Society website

There will be a second reception gallery walk on March 4 from 5-8 p.m. Normal exhibit hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Masks are required for all attendees.

Bloomington Watercolor Society members submitted their own artwork to be displayed and put up for sale at this exhibit. Artwork will be judged by a panel of judges and awarded during the opening reception. Best of Show will receive $100 and Silver Second will receive $50, according to their website

Paintings, artist prints and original hand painted greeting cards will be available for sale at the receptions. Sales from this exhibit will support Teachers Warehouse, a non-profit Bloomington organization that provides free classroom supplies for teachers in Brown, Greene, Lawrence, Monroe and Owen counties.

Proceeds from paintings and print sales are split 50% between the artist and Teachers Warehouse. 100% of original greeting card sales will go to Teachers Warehouse.
