Marching on after McNeely's exit

·

Although his tenure lasted only 16 months, athletic director Michael McNeely made a barrage of changes to IU's program. At each football game, students were met with new team colors, shiny new helmets, a new logo and new locations for student and band seating. The changes also meant new policies for the Marching Hundred -- a seat change, more distant parking spots, new uniforms and changes to the traditional run-on. While the sides had resolved some of the issues, they were working toward a resolution on the rest when McNeely resigned Friday.

Junior Audrey Giesler points out that if the Hoosiers are going to go to nationals they need freshmen Jessica Gall and Lindsay Hattendorf to step up in order to accomplish their goal. "Our team is expecting to qualify for Nationals this weekend, and we won't be able to do it without them (Hattendorf and Gall)." Giesler said. "They have been an integral part of our success this season, and I'm sure they're both planning on finishing what we set out to do as a team at the beginning of the season."

All we need is love

·

The other day, my good friend Mike turned 21. He called me, of course, in his newly legal drunken stupor, which I didn't expect. I should have known better. As I walked along the calm Bloomington sidewalk, I was excited to see his name on my cell phone's caller ID. We had toyed with the idea of dating back when he was toying with anything he could snort up his nose. It was a tumultuous relationship to say the least, one that left me emotionally drained and probably scarred for life.

RPS, there is a solution

·

It is well known to IU administrators that the food served and the prices charged on campus are not acceptable to students. Despite claims of working with students to create acceptable solutions, Residential Programs and Services, the department in charge of on-campus food, consistently manages to provide poor quality food at high prices. The root of this problem could exist in numerous places, but an analysis of RPS documents points to inefficiencies created by the structure of RPS.
