HARTFORD CITY, Ind. -- Severe thunderstorms raked parts of central Indiana Sunday, dropping heavy rain and hail and damaging a supermarket.\nThree people were taken to a hospital after high winds caused a wall and part of the roof to collapse at a Marsh supermarket in Hartford City, north of Muncie. Authorities did not know the condition of the people who were hurt.\nSome people were trapped inside the store by debris after the collapse, Blackford County dispatcher Susan Rourke said.\nForecasters at the National Weather Service posted tornado watches and warnings throughout the afternoon. There were scattered reports of funnel clouds, but authorities could not immediately confirm any tornado touchdowns.\nThe storms also produced scattered hail and heavy rain. Trees were reported down in many areas, and some streets flooded.\nThe storms moved across Indiana ahead of an approaching cold front. Other states also suffered damage.\nIn Tennessee, severe storms killed at least three people, injured 13 and knocked out power to thousands of homes and businesses.\nTwo possible tornadoes touched down in rural areas of southern Illinois, but no damage was reported.
