Hoosiers fall short during final home game

The IU field hockey team hosted its senior game Saturday against No. 24 Ohio State. IU was unable to come away with the win, losing 3-1, despite graduate student goalkeeper Viki Green’s 10 saves during her final home game as a Hoosier.

IU falls to Michigan State on the road

Facing IU Sunday afternoon, Michigan State’s Jay Chapman scored his first career goal, a strike from 22 yards away in the 43rd minute. He went on to score twice more, giving him a hat trick and the Spartans a 3-1 win on their senior day at DeMartin Stadium.

Authorities receive report of police impersonator

At about 3:45 a.m. Friday, a man told Bloomington police he was sitting in his car in the parking lot of Varsity Gate apartments. He was there to pick up his girlfriend when a male exited a model police car, possibly a Ford Crown Victoria.

Hoosiers defeat Illinois 31-17

With credit to their fourth quarter performance, the Hoosiers (3-5, 1-3) won their first Big Ten game of the year 31-17 over Illinois (2-6, 0-4) on its homecoming game in Champaign.
