Women's soccer team struggles in trip to California

It was not the weekend the IU women’s soccer team originally expected. The Hoosiers were vying to return from California with two wins against UC Santa Barbara and No. 5 Pepperdine. Instead, they flew back to Indiana with a tie and a shutout loss.

IU wins Indiana Invitational

The IU women’s volleyball team won its second straight invitational last weekend, defeating Cleveland State and Georgia Tech en route to the Indiana Invitational championship.

In their first game of the year on Saturday night, the Hoosiers defeated in-state Football Championship Subdivision opponent Indiana State 24-17 to open the 2012 season 1-0.

Ladies First looks for new members

Ladies First auditions will be 7:30 p.m. Sept. 4 and 10:30 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Music Annex at the Jacobs School of Music`. Women who audition are expected to sing a capella music with a verse and chorus prepared.

California, here they come. The players of the IU women’s soccer team will fly to the West Coast this weekend for matchups against UC Santa Barbara and Pepperdine, their first away matches of the season.
