Despite the recent decrease in temperature, the Student Recreational Sports Center will be as hot as a tropical island in the coming months. Whether it’s jogging around the indoor track or swimming laps in the pool, the cold and windy conditions outdoors are not keeping students from their usual workouts.

Scheduling horrors

·

Scheduling events is a nightmare. First, you can never find a time and date that works for everybody. Second, you struggle and fail to avoid conflicts with other events. Third, you are always having problems getting people to come. It’s a fact of life and a problem that cannot be solved.

Independence day

Given the large amounts of money students and tax payers shell out for higher education, it’s not surprising that more and more people are becoming concerned about the accountability and efficiency of colleges and universities. John P. Campbell, associate vice president for teaching and learning technologies at Purdue, has tried to cast a new data-mining program that monitors student progress in this light, arguing that preventing students from failing a class increases the value of their tuition.

Not 'too soon’ to Study Abroad

While allowing freshman to study abroad presents unique challenges, those difficulties are not enough for IU to simply ignore or ban the practice. First, where is the data showing that freshman who study abroad have a harder time adjusting to school?

Inaccuracies in ‘Wiccans and witches’

As a someone who considers herself pagan, I read Chelsea Merta’s article about “Wiccans and witches” from the Oct. 25 issue of Weekend with a mixture of irritation and frustration.
