Yu pleads guilty to sexual battery, confinement

Last March, former student Hai “Howie” Yu was charged with raping a female student and dragging her half-naked body out of the Foster Residence Center. On Wednesday, the rape charges were dropped and he pleaded guilty to reduced charges of sexual battery and criminal confinement.

After going into the final 18 holes of competition Tuesday in the Central District Invitational in 13th place, the IU women’s golf team held suit and defended its position, finishing 13th with a final round score of 299, the team’s best single-round total this spring.
