Friends, family remember Ohrn as friendly, genuine

Family and friends of IU freshman Renee Ohrn remember her as a compassionate and outgoing person who brightened the lives of everybody around her. Ohrn, 19, of Gary was killed Saturday morning in a fire at Terra Trace Apartments.


IU Incident Team Anti-Harassment Reports

Bloomington named GLBT-friendly city but incident teams respond most to GLBT crimes

Four IU Incident teams recently published a dissemination of racial, religious bias, GLBT and gender incidents that took place around campus between July 1, 2010, and June 30, 2011. Although there were 51 GLBT incidents reported, Bloomington still received a five-star rating on Campus Pride's LGBT-Friendly Campus Climate Index.

An IU student was arrested for battery during the tailgate Saturday morning after a fight broke out when he tried to steal alcohol from another student's truck.

IU's Department of Psychology has the oldest continually operating psychology laboratory in the United States. The lab has been open for more than 125 years and has helped train some of the world's most well known psychologists.

Tool calculates total college cost

On Sept. 12, IU’s Office of Enrollment Management launched a net price calculator through The College Board. It is designed to help prospective students determine an accurate cost of attendance.


Asian Culture Center Henna Classes

Students learn to make henna tattoos

Every week, the Asian Culture Center hosts a class to teach students about henna tattoo making. The practice of dying skin and hair with a paste from crushed henna leaves mixed with oils goes back to antiquity.

IU freshman forward Cody Zeller, accompanied by his mother Lori attended the funeral of his former coach's wife, Debra. Gene Miiller coached both Cody and his older brother Tyler to a combined three Class 3A IHSAA state titles, including championships in the past two seasons.

Since his final game in 1994 for the Hoosiers, Brian Maisonneuve, IU's current assistant coach, has played in the 1996 Olympics, the 1998 World Cup and for the Columbus Crew of the MLS from 1996 to 2004

College DJ competition aims to remake Jake's as party house

The future of Jake’s Nightclub will include turntables, dancing and a completely revitalized social scene, at least if senior Derrick Cowit has anything to say about it. Cowit plans to revitalize the scene at Jake’s with The Best College DJ Competition, where DJs from all over IU’s campus will showcase their talents and compete for a Spring Break getaway.

Lazersaurus live from the Bishop

Britton will be host for Lazersaurus Live at 11 p.m. today from the Bishop. The broadcast will feature local bands Community Currency and The Delicious and comedian Ben Moore as musical and comedic guests. Now four years running, Britton still has his weekly radio show from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. every Tuesday, featuring various local musicians and comedians as guests.
