Executive office removes Sigma Pi leadership, alumni reorganize chapter

The campus undergraduate leaders of Sigma Pi have been removed from their positions, all official campus activities have been halted and the fraternity has been placed in an alumni trusteeship, according to a press release from the Sigma Pi Fraternity Executive Office.

Effron, Symphony Orchestra bring life to music

The musicians and conductor all appeared to sway with the rhythm, as though the music itself was a strong wind blowing through the stage. The audience gave thunderous applause to the orchestra and its conductor after the piece concluded. On Wednesday, Jacobs School of Music faculty member David Effron conducted the IU Symphony Orchestra at the Musical Arts Center.

Posehn premieres at Funny Bone

This week Brian Posehn is making his first-ever appearance at the Funny Bone Comedy Club. Many people said that Posehn is the biggest act to come to the Funny Bone since its opening.  “Brian Posehn is another one of those comedians that comes to town that you say, ‘How the hell did the Funny Bone get him?’ And that’s something they consistently do,” IU graduate and Funny Bone host Brad Wilhelm said.

Agency celebrates 50 years

Stone Belt Arc is celebrating its 50th anniversary with its “Belt Out Laughing!” comedy show today at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater. The show is 7:30 p.m. today at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater and features season four winner of “Last Comic Standing” Josh Blue and opening act Brad ‘Wilhelm.’

It is occasionally upsetting that just because I’m not Lady Gaga, it’s unacceptable for me to wear an Alexander McQueen futuristic masterpiece to meet with my textiles professor. While a straight off the runway ensemble may not jive with the scenery in Ballentine Hall, haute couture elements can be borrowed to update a wardrobe without looking like an extra from a Cirque Du Soleil show.
