Friday’s Homecoming Parade is expected to create congestion and traffic delays near its route and on campus streets.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., but preparations will start more than two hours prior. Parade floats will line up on Rose Avenue near Willkie Quad, start down Third Street, then head north on Indiana Avenue toward the Sample Gates, according to the IU Alumni Association Web site.
The parade will still take place in the event of rain. Starting at 3:30 p.m., the IU Police Department will have officers assisting pedestrians and vehicles at major intersections.
