Say goodbye to shrinkage

·

Although it might not be as stylish as your baggy board shorts or sultry Speedo, we should not look upon the Rooster Booster with shame. We should see it for what it really is: an opportunity.

IU sophomore quarterback Kellen Lewis looks off the field during IU's 36-31 loss to Penn State October 21, 2007 at Memorial Stadium.

Real talk with R&B star Colby O’Donis

·

Although only 20 years old, do not assume that Colby O’Donis is inexperienced in the music industry. You might have first noticed him from Lady Gaga’s music video “Just Dance” or heard him in Akon’s hit “Beautiful,” but O’Donis has been on the music scene since he was 9 years old. By the age of 15, he had written 100 songs that were co-written by musicians such as Justin Timberlake, Usher and Michael Jackson.

1st annual Surveillanceys

·

Much like the semester, the TV season is coming to an end.We have always looked forward in this space – to the next week, to the next month – but as everything winds down, it is always fun to turn around and peer backward. Therefore, enjoy the first-ever Surveillanceys. The best and worst moments of the season are here, with the caveat being many awesome or horrendous moments could take place in the final hours of programs this year.

A devoted fan remembers a ‘Golden’ friend

·

There have always been signs throughout my life indicating that I should have been born as an 80-year-old woman. Several of these signs include (but are not limited to) my resistance to eat spicy foods because of persistent heartburn, the constant aches and pains in my joints and my inability to relate to anyone other than the four characters on “The Golden Girls.”

Stylized emptiness

·

“The Spirit” is writer-director Frank Miller’s latest adaptation of Will Eisner’s comic book bearing the same title. The film inherently draws comparison to Miller’s directorial debut, “Sin City,” another graphic novel he created.

Luke-warm effort

·

In the category of decent bands, you’ve likely never heard of exists Portland, Ore., indie pop/punk trio the Thermals.

The wary eater’s guide to 4th Street’s foreign cuisine

·

College diners might be reluctant to try Fourth Street’s cuisine especially if it appears too exotic or risky. But many of the options Bloomington’s row of foreign restaurants has to offer are more familiar than one would expect. We have outlined four popular restaurants and their signature dishes that your taste buds might not find too surprising. So before you go home for your summer break, don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and explore Kirkwood’s backyard international cuisine.

Brut force

·

Art Brut is one of the more divisive bands in indie rock. If you’re new to them, I can guarantee that some of you, upon hearing Eddie Argos’ tuneless talk-singing, will ask “What is this junk?” and immediately go back to Fleet Foxes or Grizzly Bear or something else with pretty vocal harmonies.

Infielder Tyler Rogers tries to bring home runners at second and third, including catcher Josh Phegley, with two outs in the ninth inning against Miami (Ohio) on Tuesday afternoon at Sembower Field. Though they lost 9-6 on Tuesday, the Hoosiers bounced back and beat Western Illinois 17-2 on Wednesday.

Early runs lead IU to 17-2 win

·

Sometimes, teams are just overmatched; ask Western Illinois, which was dominated in all aspects of Wednesday’s 17-2 loss to the Hoosiers at Sembower Field.

Believe the Efron hype

·

Zac Efron does not suck. If there’s anything to take away from “17 Again,” it’s that. Efron has all the charisma, talent and timing to be a legitimate Hollywood force.
