The Independent Council was co-founded a year ago by senior Annette DiTommaso as a way for “non-greek” women to bond, participate in social activities, organize philanthropic events and support IU.

Defensive adjustments steer Hoosiers to win

Following Western Kentucky's opening offensive series Saturday that saw running back Bobby Rainey run for 62 yards and a score, the IU defense made adjustments that allowed Rainey just 43 yards the rest of the game in the Hoosiers' 38-21 victory.

The CBS challenge to college marching bands for the best rendition of “Hawaii 5-O” will begin public voting today. The public will be able to vote for their favorite video until Oct. 4.

Accident results in pedestrian injury

A pedestrian was injured with a possible broken leg after a two-car collision at about 6:30 p.m. Friday on Third Street and Swain Avenue.

The leader of Team Geno held a sign Saturday, showing a picture of his late son, high above the crowd. Gene Brewer, father of Eugene “Geno” Brewer, joined more than 5,000 participants and 300 volunteers Saturday at IU’s Memorial Stadium for the 11th annual Hoosiers Outrun Cancer event.

Men's soccer defeats Massachusetts, 2-1

The IU men’s soccer team defeated Massachusetts, 2-1, Sunday in Amherst, Mass. Junior forward Will Bruin put the Hoosiers (2-3) on the scoreboard in the 51st minute.
