More bedbugs discovered in Herman B Wells Library

Five more bedbugs were found in Herman B Wells Library on Tuesday, in the same area the previous bedbugs were found in September.

“They thought they had found all of them that were there two weeks ago, but apparently there was still some clutter in the office area and the bedbugs were able to hide,” said Steve Hinnefeld, a media specialist in the IU Office of Communications. “For whatever reason, they’ve found some more.”

The office where the bugs were found has been cleaned out, Hinnefeld said, and the Office of Environmental Health and Safety Management used insecticide and inspected the area visually. The office also plans to bring in a dog that is trained to sniff out the bugs.
