He was the  man behind the words of “Hurts So Good,” “Human Wheels,” “Minutes to Memories” and “Crumblin’ Down.” Long-time songwriter for John Mellencamp, George M. Green, died at the age of 59.

Anatomy offers vintage fans a place to shop, win

Behind the glass-paned French doors of Anatomy Vintage, blouses in bright colors blend together on the racks like a painting by Matisse. Shoes — from pumps to flats to cowboy boots — cover shelves like a mosaic of leather, canvas and shoelaces. Even Anatomy’s owner, Amber Zaragoza, looks like a work of art, dressed smartly in a floral frock and ladies’ velvet hat, as she welcomes customers to her brand-new boutique.

Comedy groups to audition for open spots

Seven campus comedy groups are looking for people to foster their inner comics, and auditions are beginning soon. Dating back to more than a decade, these groups put on free improv, sketch and stand-up comedy shows for students and community members across campus.

State to take over 4 IPS schools

Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Bennett asked for approval from the State Board of Education for the state to take over six failing schools in the Indianapolis Public School system.







Theater Auditions

Department of Theater, Drama opens doors for fall auditions

Students from every major and class were invited to audition for the Department of Theater and Drama’s productions of “Hair,” “In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play,” “Three Musketeers” and “Lysistrata” on Monday at the Lee Norvelle Theater.

When the sun rises

The IU Rowing Club, in its sixth season, currently has only six rowers and a coxswain. The club’s first regatta is Lemonhead on Oct. 1 at Lake Lemon.


IUSA officers answer questions about student government

IUSA’s specific initiatives change each year, as different administrations choose to campaign on and, if elected, tackle different projects. Nonetheless, the constant aim of IUSA is to “protect student rights, enrich student life, and improve Indiana University,” as per its constitution.
