A man was stabbed Saturday during an altercation at a popular student apartment complex.
Officers were dispatched at about 2:15 a.m. to the 200 block of Varsity Lane at Varsity Villas after receiving a report of a stabbing, Bloomington Police Department Capt. Joe Qualters said in an email Tuesday.
The officers found the 20-year-old victim with stab wounds to his stomach and upper-right arm.
βHe was transported to IU Health-Bloomington where he was admitted and listed in stable condition when the officer last checked on him,β Qualters said.
Qualters said witnesses told police the stabbing occurred during a fight between the victim and two other men. The victim was allegedly held in a headlock by one suspect while the other suspect stabbed him.
The two men then fled in a 1990s model Dodge pickup truck with an extended cab. The truck may have been red and maroon, Qualters said.
The suspect who stabbed the man is described as a black male in his early 20s, of average height and build and wearing a maroon IU polo shirt and jean shorts. He may also have a mustache, Qualters said.
The suspect who held the victim in a headlock is described as a white male in his early 20s with blonde hair, of thin build and average height. He was wearing a baggy white T-shirt and blue jeans.
Anyone with information about the stabbing is encouraged to contact BPD at 812-339-4477.
