4th Street Festival artists touched by effects of technology

Like many other arts fairs, the annual Fourth Street Festival celebrates unique and often hand-made products in a time of large-scale production and mechanization. However, even this festival isn’t immune to the effects of technology.

Storytellers Guild tell soul-fulfilling tales

As part of the 35th annual Forth Street Festival, the Bloomington Storytellers Guild touted tales to curious college students, agile children and tie-dye clad adults on Saturday. They wove messages from urban legends and mythical tales into theatrical narratives.

Community members spell for education

“Thou shalt spell well,” commanded a sign on an All Saints Spellers’ costume. The Foundation of Monroe County Community Schools had its second annual Great Grown Up Spelling Bee Friday at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater.

Despite leading at the half, IU opened the Kevin Wilson era Saturday with a27-20 loss to Ball State at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Kevin Wilson’s offenses at Oklahoma were known for a frenetic tempo and through one half of play, it appears Wilson has brought that pace to IU. The Hoosiers hold a 17-14 lead over Ball State after one half of play at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Sources: Wright-Baker to start on Saturday

Sophomore quarterback Edward Wright-Baker took all the snaps with the first team in practice Thursday and will start IU’s season opener Saturday against Ball State.
