Tuesday at 2:31 a.m. a non-sworn security officer with the IU Police Department was assaulted.
The officer observed a male subject carrying a parking sign that was taken from behind Qdoba.
According IU Police Chief Keith Cash, the subject was located on the east side of Kirkwood Hall.
“When the officer attempted to speak with the subject, he threw the sign at him,” Cash said. “The sign was thrown like a spear using the pole to attempt to strike the officer.”
According to Cash, the sign missed striking the officer and he was not injured.
Officers were unable to locate the subject shortly after he fled the scene.
