Lotus in the Park was just another example where the Lotus Festival provided audiences a day filled with music from around the world in celebration of Lotus Dickey. The event kicked off on Saturday at the Waldron, Hill and Buskirk Park and was free.

Bloomington band reunites for own 20th anniversary

Joining in on Lotus Festival’s 20th anniversary celebration was Bloomington-based band, Japonize Elephants. Though they’ve since split up, on Saturday Japonize Elephants came back together to celebrate their own start 20 years ago as well.

New Music Ensemble to play tonight

The Jacobs School of Music’s New Music Ensemble, under the direction of David Dzubay with guest composer Sebastian Currier will perform its first show of the year  at 7 tonight at Auer Hall.

Amjad Ali Khan, a well-known Indian classical music artist and composer, presented a public demonstration of the sarod Wednesday at Auer Hall.

Brown, Bronson perform at Bluebird

Canada may have denied Danny Brown entrance earlier this month, but a full room of fans at the Bluebird Nightclub welcomed him and Action Bronson to the stage Tuesday night for their 2 High 2 Die tour. Before the show, our reporter got a chance to do a quick Q&A with Brown.

Cafe Django hosted it’s monthly Django Jazz Jam, an event hosted by Jazz from Bloomington to raise awareness of jazz in the Bloomington community and bring together artists of all demographics to play in a relaxed, collaborative environment.

Lotus Festival gets early opening on campus

IU, the new School of Global and International Studies and Lotus will present a kick-off concert at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Alumni Hall in the Indiana Memorial Union. The concert will be free for IU students.
