Salomé Cloteaux, editor-in-chief: Every time I complain about IU parking, I am met with the same responses: “There isn’t enough space to have parking for everyone on campus. Why don’t you just walk or bike or take the bus or ride a scooter? Don’t you want Bloomington to become more walkable and less reliant on cars?” But when it’s 11 p.m., I’m finally leaving work, the buses aren’t running, my bike got stolen twice in one month, there has been another e-scooter accident, I don’t make enough money to get an Uber every day, my car got towed because although I paid almost $200 for an ST parking pass, I was late to move my car from the stadium the night before the third basketball home game this week, and I have to pray my roommate is still awake to pick me up so I have a safe way home, I think I have a right to complain about IU parking.

Jack Davis: I don’t want to see everyone’s Spotify Wrapped. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not anti-Spotify Wrapped; I think it is a neat idea, and I personally enjoy seeing mine. But if I want to see yours, I’ll ask you to show me. When it comes out, it feels like every single story on Instagram is people's Spotify Wrapped.

There are no puns to be found in composer Charles Gounod’s version of Verona as there are in Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet.” Multiple minor characters have been trimmed away to focus on the main couple, adding drama to their romance. Many of Shakespeare’s iconic lines remain, with music added to them as they stand. “Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo,” “Goodnight, goodnight, parting is such sweet sorrow” and even Mercutio’s iconic “Queen Mab” soliloquy remain as they were in the original play.

The town of Gander, Newfoundland, is not noteworthy, as the residents tell the audience in the opening of “Come From Away.” It is described as “the farthest place from Disneyland," the weather is terrible, and there are only about 9,000 people there.

Isabella Vesperini: It is completely acceptable to listen to Christmas music in November. The holiday season isn’t nearly long enough. Halloween hits, and then November and December FLY BY. And with how busy I am with school, the fact that it’s the holiday season never settles in. I feel like I can’t fully enjoy it because I’m packed with so many other things. Listening to Christmas music in November gives the holiday season more justice and helps me enjoy the time of year more.

As Amazon and other large corporations take over, shopping locally becomes less and less common. According to The Zebra, small business creation has dropped 50 percent in the past 30 years. But Bloomington is a town full of amazing local shops, markets and grocery stores. They help make our town unique. There are many benefits to shopping locally, like helping your town's economy and reducing your impact on the environment. But my favorite reason to shop locally is getting to know the community and the people in it.

For months I have been looking for a tote bag – not a canvas one, but one that has integrity to it. I would prefer it to have pockets, a zipper, enough space that I can use it as a school bag and to be stylish of course. For countless weeks, I have been searching through vintage stores and on Etsy shops and haven’t been able to find just what I am looking for, but TikTok sure thinks they’ve found just what I need.

Dennis James began his career as a prank. According to him, he suggested the idea of accompanying a silent movie on the pipe organ to his roommate as a joke but, in the nature of pranks, the event kept getting bigger and bigger. He said he printed pieces of paper that merely said “The Phantom is Coming” in reference to “The Phantom of the Opera” — the movie he showed at his first show Oct. 31, 1969.

While the world has been focused on the horrors of the Israel-Hamas war, there has simultaneously been catastrophe in Afghanistan. This terror being orchestrated by massive earthquakes which have killed more than 2,000 people. Such a natural tragedy prompted me to ask a broader question on natural disasters: why do innocent people die?

Bloomington is a city known for its wide-ranging cuisine touching nearly every corner of the world. With over 150 restaurants in its downtown district alone, and over 350 in the greater Monroe County area, there’s bound to be several that appeal to everyone. However, as with any city, it’s a little more difficult discerning which of these restaurants are reasonably priced and which ones are going to break the bank.
