IU (6-6) opens conference play against Michigan at noon on New Year's Eve at Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers will be doing it without their leading scorer, freshman guard Maurice Creek, who fractured his knee against Bryant on Monday and will miss the rest of the season.
UPDATE (8:20, Tuesday): via Tom Crean's Twitter: "The surgery was successful and Dr. Ahlfeld feels very good about it. It certainly could have been alot worse. I know alot of you Have been worried about him and We all have been as well. We had a team prayer right at 2 o clock because we knew he was heading into (surgery)."

So IU finished its season 4-8 with a disappointing loss to Purdue. But at least one player is up for a post-season award. Senior safety Collin Taylor is a finalist for the College Football Rudy Award. Winners are selected by a panelist, but there's a fan vote included in the consideration.
