Freshman Maurice Creek's season ended just 12 games into the 2009-2010 campaign as he suffered a fractured left knee in the second half against Bryant on Monday. Here is some reaction from players and coaches.
He's a very, very special young man. It's gut-wrenching in so many fronts when you see a young man work so hard and go down like that.
Obviously, our number one concern is that everything goes well throughout the surgery.
My biggest fear is the maturity you have to have (going into the Big Ten season). Now that maturity is going to get tested even more. Not just because a freshman is out - Maurice Creek on the court brings confidence because of his athleticism, his talent, and his ability to score. That's what great players do. They bring confidence to their teammates.
(On going forward) The (other) players are stunned right now, but then they are going to be stung.
This is going to be a real challenge for a bunch of young guys...(Creek) is a very well-liked young man...There's a lot of down guys right now. They are down because their teammate is crushed.
He's going through a tough time right now, but he has a chance to be one of the best players that plays at Indiana.
You can't try to second guess why things happen. The Creator God is the only one that knows why things happen and we just have to trust that.

I was just praying for him...We just have to go forward and keep moving. We've got guys that can step up and make plays.
- Christian Watford
We are going to dedicate the rest of our season to him.
(On filling in): It has to be a team effort one through five and our bench has to step up.
