How good is Ben Chappell?

In today's edition of the IDS, I called IU quarterback Ben Chappell an "average Big Ten quarterback" and said he didn't look like he belonged on the same field as the Illinois defense. My justification for calling Chappell average is I believe there are five Big Ten QBs -- Terrelle Pryor, Scott Tolzien, Ricky Stanzi, Kirk Cousins and Denard Robinson -- who are better than he is. As I continue to think more about it, however, I wonder how much of Chappell's struggles have to do with his ability and how much they have to do with his offensive line and running game, or lack thereof.

And while we are not allowed to go into specifics in what we saw on the court, Crean did meet with the media following the practice to answer a few questions. NOTE: *Maurice Creek is still recovering from his knee injury.

Friday's Victory over Iowa

Included here is some additional perspective regarding the Hoosiers' win over the Hawkeyes on Friday (10/15). From the 1989-1991 seasons, coach Amy Robertson was an assistant on the Hawkeyes' staff. "I really don't think about that," Robertson said.
