Hoosier Hysteria on Friday showed more than 13,000 fans what the IU men's basketball team was made of. It also did the same for some of the nation's top recruits.
Jeremy Hollowell (Lawrence Central), the No. 39 overall player in the class of 2012, was one of those in attendance at Assembly Hall.
I caught up with the 6-foot-6 small forward on Sunday night to see how his visit to Bloomington went.
IDS: What were your overall impressions of Hoosier Hysteria?
Jeremy Hollowell: It was a great atmosphere. Just seeing all of the people there who came out to support the team, it was a great feel for IU basketball.
IDS: Did you get a chance to talk to IU coach Tom Crean before or after the event?
JH: Yes, we got to Assembly Hall around 8 p.m. and he came to get me to take me to where everybody was sitting. He was just saying how packed it was, the atmosphere and what a night it would be.
IDS: Was there a particular part about Hoosier Hysteria that stood out for you?
JH: I liked it all. It was cool to see the players interact with each other and have fun out there while getting ready for the season.
IDS: Did you get a chance to interact with the IU players at all during your time in Bloomington?
JH: After I went out and stayed the night with them. We just hung out and chilled.
IDS: Did you hang out with any other IU recruits at all?
JH: Yogi (Ferrell) was with me the whole weekend. We've known each other since third grade - we played on the same AAU team for about three or four years.
IDS: Did you guys talk about possibly playing together in college?
JH: We talked a little bit about it, but not too much.
IDS: Where are you in terms of the recruiting process? Have you thought about when you would like to make a commitment?
JH: I'm just getting ready for my high school season, so I'm really worried about it. I won't really be worried about it until next year.
IDS: Where does IU stand among the schools you are considering?
JH: I like IU, but I also like a couple of schools. They are pretty high, but I don't have a set list right now. There's no order. I'm just taking my time with it.
