Purdie joins teammates in 2012 MLS draft class

Former-IU men's soccer midfielder Alec Purdie was selected today by the New England Revolution with the third pick of the second round of the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft. Purdie, a redshirt senior last season with the Hoosiers, finished his Indiana career with 12 goals and 10 assists, including eight goals and five assists during his senior season.

Zeller named to Wooden Award Midseason List

Adding to his list of numerous accolades through his freshman season, Cody Zeller received another one on Tuesday as he was one of 25 players selected to the Wooden Award Midseason List. The Wooden Award acts in a similar sense to the Heisman Trophy in college football. Zeller is one of three freshmen named to the list and is averaging 14.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game this season. Kentucky has the other two freshmen on the list with Anthony Davis and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.

IU ranked No. 11 in AP and No. 13 in Coaches Poll

Suffering its first two game losing streak of the season did not seem to affect pollsters too much as the IU men's basketball team fell just four and five spots respectively in this week's polls. The Hoosiers (15-3, 3-3) are ranked No.

Kiel, Wright-Baker leave team

Sophomore quarterbacks Dusty Kiel and Edward Wright-Baker, who started the first seven games of the season for the Hoosiers, left the team today, per IU Athletics. They combined for 1,456 passing yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions.

A Look at IU's Non-conference Opponents

For the first time in the Tom Crean era, fans are not only talking about the NCAA Tournament but are starting to crunch numbers in finding out were the Hoosiers might be seeded come Selection Sunday. In Joe Lunardi's Bracketology that came out earlier this week he had the Hoosiers as a 2-seed with seven Big Ten teams making the tournament. IU might have the best combination of two marquee wins of any team in the nation with the wins over Kentucky and Ohio State.
