IU Quarterbacks Coach Kevin Johns visited Deltona, Fla. Wednesday to check in on Paxton Lynch, a pro-style quarterback from Trinity Christian Academy.
Lynch threw a few passes and spoke with Johns for a period of time. They discussed what both IU and Lynch are looking for and when a possible visit could take place.
"I can adapt to any offense and play any offense I need to play," Lynch said. "(In high school), it was mostly pro-style, then we'd run a little bit of spread.
"I can stand back and shotgun the ball around or I can go under center. It doesn't matter to me. I can play any offense."
Lynch also scheduled a tentative visit for midweek next week, which will take place just prior to his visit to Florida, scheduled for next Friday, Jan. 27.
He has received offers from FAMU and Florida Tech, but is much more interested in a place that can offer him a scholarship, which he doubts Florida Tech can do. He also said a UCF coach recently visited his house.
Despite growing up in Florida, Lynch said he grew up a fan of the Big Ten -- specifically Penn State -- and actually is looking forward to possibly playing in colder climates.
"I wouldn't mind going up there, even though the weather is a little different than here," Lynch said. "I've always wanted to go play in the cold, but I'm pretty sure it will be a lot different once I get there and realize how cold it actually is."
Lynch said the visits to the actual universities will be the most important factors in his collegiate decision, but as of now, IU is in the race.
"IU's up there," Lynch said. "I would choose Florida over it, just because it's Florida. I could choose Indiana over anybody if I like it as much as I think I would if I went up there. I'm just trying to keep my options open"
