Sophomore quarterbacks Dusty Kiel and Edward Wright-Baker, who started the first seven games of the season for the Hoosiers, left the team today, per IU Athletics.
They combined for 1,456 passing yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions. True freshman Tre Roberson, who started the final five games of the season, threw for 937 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions.
The remaining quarterbacks who will be on the roster in the fall include (with age adjusted for fall 2012):
Tre Roberson, sophomore -- Threw for 937 yards in five games, including three touchdowns and six interceptions. He also ran for 426 yards and two touchdowns. He became the first true freshman to start at quarterback in IU history on Oct. 22, 2011 against Iowa.
Nolan Dieter, sophomore -- The Washington (South Bend, Ind.) High School graduate saw no game action in 2011.
Cameron Coffman, sophomore -- The dual-threat quarterback from Raymore, Mo. committed to IU earlier this week. Rivals.com rated him as the No. 20 dual-threat quarterback in the 2011 high school class, eight spots ahead of Roberson.
