IU sweeps doubleheader

Hi all, Sorry the reaction was delayed. My brand new HP didn't want to connect to the internet for some reason, but enough of my personal problems. IU swept its Saturday doubleheader, cementing its series against Penn State, 2-1.

Michael Avery, the current high school freshman who committed to play for Kentucky last year as an eighth grader, made a short trip to Bloomington on Friday. The 6-foot-5 freshman met with the IU coaching staff before heading to Louisville for an AAU event. "(The IU staff) told me they had a lot of interest," Avery told the Louisville Courier-Journal.

How well does Team Pursuit predict the race?

It's one week before the big races, which means this Saturday is the Team Pursuit. This event pits two teams in opposite corners of the track, and it's basically a game of cat-and-mouse for the 15-lap (12 for women) race.

Nick Williams to transfer

A few weeks ago, IU had one too many scholarship players in the fold for next season. Now, IU coach Tom Crean has one more scholarship to give, following today's announcement that freshman Nick Williams is leaving the program. Williams, a 6-foot-4 guard who averaged 8.9 points and 4.5 rebounds per game this season, said he was unhappy with his position on the team. "After the season, Nick expressed displeasure with his role this year and also shared concern with members of our coaching staff about his future role in the program," Crean said in a statement released by IU media relations.

Delta Chi

As one of the most storied programs in Little 500 history, the old Delta Chi was a consistent top-five finisher and eight-time winner of the race, the most of any fraternity.

Cutters

The winningest team in Little 500 and the champions from the past two years took some time out of their hectic training schedule to do an interview with us about their training, the history of their team and the ties and memories they have made throughout the year.

4/14/09 Spring Practice

Wide receiver Terrance Turner was, in my opinion, the best at Tuesday's practice. Turner caught some long passes and almost broke some defenders' ankles.

DeShaun Thomas still saying OSU

DeShaun Thomas, a top junior class prospect from Fort Wayne, still is committed to Ohio State. IU coach Tom Crean's appearance at his Class 2A state title game on March 28 stimulated rumors that he might be considering the Hoosiers.

2nd Spring Scrimmage Analysis

Before I start with the analysis, here's a refresher on the main changes: 1. IU implements new Pistol Offense - quarterback is in a shotgun position but closer to line.

Hoosiers take first two in Iowa series

Behind great pitching from IU freshman Blake Monar and junior Eric Arnett, respectively, the Hoosiers were able to win the first two games of a three-game series against Iowa. Earlier today, Arnett went a full nine innings, giving up only two hits and one earned run against the Hawkeyes.
