Michael Avery, the current high school freshman who committed to play for Kentucky last year as an eighth grader, made a short trip to Bloomington on Friday.

The 6-foot-5 freshman met with the IU coaching staff before heading to Louisville for an AAU event.

"(The IU staff) told me they had a lot of interest," Avery told the Louisville Courier-Journal. "They didn't talk about offering yet because that was our first talk, but who knows."

Tom Crean was in Florida on Friday recruiting before heading to the University of Florida for a football clinic (this is old news to you if you've subscribed to Crean's Twitter updates). Crean has been after Tallahassee's Stacey Poole, a junior, for some time, so they were likely checking in on him.

UPDATE (Sunday 4/19): Crean was spotted in Georgetown, Ky. doing some recruiting. He watched Ge-Lawn Guyn and Chad Jackson work out at Scott County High School, according to Jody Demling.
