Leno's Standout Stars:

1. RB Darius Willis: He's only playing at 80%, but he's definitely a promising addition to the backfield. At Saturday's Spring Game, Willis netted 80 yards and 1 touchdown. He's been battling a groin injury, something that's been limiting his reps. in practice. The crowd had to be pleasantly surprised with Willis, especially if they never have seen him play before. His blazing speed to the outside and burst up the middle are intangible elements IU has been missing for quite some time. There will be four running backs, who will be shifting in and out come the fall, but Willis might get most of the carries.

2. RB Trea Burgess: Burgess and Willis make a great team. Burgess had 29 yards for the Cream Squad with 2 toucdowns. Both of his scores came in th 4th quarter - 30 and 35 yard TD's. I think of Burgess as a power runner but can fool defenders with his speed in the open field. In his post game remarks, IU coach Bill Lynch said he is fully committed to the downhill running style. He believes it has to be balanced with the passing game to be effective.

3. QB Ben Chappell- Throughout spring practice, Chappell has looked very comfortable in the pocket. Now, the pressure is off his shoulders because he will be the number one QB come the fall. On Saturday, Chappell threw for 205 yards and 2 touchdowns. He hooked up with Kellen Lewis on five occasions. The two seem to have an eye for one another. If the offense goes into disarray, Chappell and Lewis will keep on finding each other.
