Hoosiers shutout Pacific on Senior Day

IU field hockey beats the Pacific Tigers 3-0 on senior day. The No. 20 Hoosiers improve to 11-5 on the season, with the two wins this weekend. In the first half no goals were scored, even though seven shots were taken by Indiana. IU took the lead at the 48th minute, when senior midfielder Meg O'Connell scored an unassisted goal off a penalty corner. With five minutes later, the Hoosiers took a 2-0 lead off a goal from freshman forward Brooke Borneman. IU finished off the game with one more goal from senior forward Haley Funk. IU falls to Ohio State 3-1

The IU volleyball team lost its third straight match Saturday, falling to Ohio State in four sets. The Buckeyes (17-6, 5-5) defeated the Hoosiers (14-10, 3-7) by scores of 25-19, 25-22, 23-25 and 25-23. Junior outside hitter Katie Dull paced Ohio State offensively, killing 19 balls at a .293 clip.

The IU doubles team of juniors Santiago Gruter and Lachlan Ferguson advanced to the final 16 at the Wilson/ITA Regional this morning. The duo will play again at 7 p.m.

Penn State sweeps Hoosiers

The IU volleyball team lost in straight sets to No. 1 Penn State Friday. The Nittany Lions (21-0, 9-0) won their 85th consecutive match by scores of 25-19, 25-13 and 25-17. Penn State senior outside hitter Megan Hodge led the way offensively, killing 16 balls at a .538 clip.

Indiana beats Penn State 4-1

IU field hockey defeats Penn State 4-1 and improves their record to 10-5 and 3-2 in the Big Ten Conference. PSU got off to an early lead with a goal by redshirt-freshman forward Hannah Allison off a penalty corner at the 1oth minute. Rowing This Weekend

Sunday, the rowers will be sending their 1st varsity eight to the Princeton Chase in New Jersey. I believe they are seeded eighth out of approximately 15-20 teams in the race.

MacTaggart, Juneau squander early lead in doubles play

The duo of freshmen Josh MacTaggart and Isade Juneau dropped their opening round doubles match after squandering an early 3-0 lead. MacTaggart and Juneau fell to the East Tennessee State team of Grega Teraz and Charles Bottoni 9-7. Sophomore Will Kendall and freshman Alex van Gils are on the floor now. Men's Hockey Breaks into Top 25

When head coach Tom Orr looked at the schedule he made for his hockey team's first D-I season, he wondered if he made the right decision. "I looked at it and I said, 'It is one of the more difficult schedules, but it is going to make us better right away and make us rise to it,'" he said. It seems that his choice was right, as IU (3-7) got its first ranking in school history as an American Collegiate Hockey Association D-I program. Continue reading here.

Kendall, Juneau advance to main draw

Sophomore Will Kendall and freshman Isade Juneau continued to win Friday morning at the Wilson/ITA Ohio Valley Regional. Both players advanced to the tournament's main draw after defeating their opponents at the IU Tennis Center. Kendall knocked off Purdue's Jan-Frans Englebrecht 6-2, 7-6 and Juneau took care of Butler's Lenz Theodor 6-4, 6-1. The Hoosiers have been hot in the first two days of competition, winning five of their six matches overall.
