UPDATE: January rape reported at Forest Quadrangle, IUPD has person of interest

A rape reportedly occured Jan. 23 at Forest Quadrangle, according to IU Police Department crime log. It was reported to IUPD on Monday. 

The case is being actively investigated, IUPD Deputy Chief Shannon Bunger said. The department has a person of interest, who is not a student at the university.

This is the 12th incident of sexual assault, sexual battery or rape reported to IUPD in 2022. It is the ninth incident reported in an IU residence hall in 2022, according to the crime log.
