Indiana football and the University of Massachusetts Amherst have canceled their 2027 matchup, a source confirmed to the Indiana Daily Student on Tuesday.
Indiana and UMass originally agreed to a matchup in 2015 and scheduled the game for September 2023. But the game was later postponed to Sept. 18, 2027, at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington. Indiana and UMass have played just one all-time game against one another — a 45-6 Hoosier victory in 2012.
Last month, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that Wisconsin and Colorado State University canceled their 2027 nonconference matchup, and UMass was expected to be added to the Badgers’ schedule. With this shift, Indiana and UMass’ cancelation appeared likely, and the Hoosiers will now have an opening in their 2027 schedule.
