Ethan Hawke's new feature film "Blaze" will premiere Nov. 16 in the Wood Shop Brewery. The film is inspired by American country singer-songwriter Blaze Foley.

Cicada Cinema will partner with Upland Brewing Co. for a beer and movie night on Nov. 16 featuring Ethan Hawke’s newest film “Blaze."

Released in 2018, the movie follows the life of Blaze Foley, a songwriting legend of the Texas outlaw music movement that influenced artists like Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson. The film is based on a book by Foley’s lover, Sybil Rosen, called “Living in the Woods in a Tree,” and is broken up into three interwoven periods of Blaze’s past, present and future, according to the cinema’s Facebook page. Ben Dickey stars as Foley and Alia Shawkat stars as Foley’s lover.

The screening will be at Upland Woodshop Sour Brewery with craft beer available from the brewery during the film. Doors for this Southwestern tale of love, life, music and hard times will open at 7 p.m., and the movie will start at 8 p.m. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased at the event or online. This event is 21 and over only.
