Indiana baseball pitcher Jacob Gomberg was removed from the team’s roster, per an Indiana Athletics spokesperson Monday morning. Gomberg was charged with stalking: sexual cyberharassment of another person in Alachua County, Florida.
Gomberg allegedly shared nonconsensual videos of then-19-year-old University of Florida sophomore Maddie Kowalski being “sexually violated while incapacitated,” according to a civil complaint Kowalski filed against him in federal court Aug. 26.
Kowalski came forward in a Sept. 14 WIRED story, detailing harassment in person and online following a video released Nov. 3, 2025. The civil complaint alleges Gomberg “intentionally” published “one or more” of the recordings through “one or more pseudonymous ‘burner’ accounts.”
Per court documents, investigators served legal processes to X, which provided the email address linked to an X burner account, “MadDogTime.” The account allegedly posted a screenshot of a nonconsensual sexually explicit video of Kowalski.
Subsequently, legal processes compelled Google to provide the name, phone number and date of birth linked to the email address. The University of Florida Police Department then confirmed the phone number and date of birth were associated with Gomberg.
According to WIRED, videos of Kowalski were viewed more than 8.5 million times in the initial hours.
Gomberg, a Coral Springs, Florida, native joined Indiana in July after one season at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The left-handed pitcher started his collegiate career at Florida, making four career appearances between the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
