Festival of Ghost Stories to take place before Halloween

Masks and stickers for Day of the Dead hang alongside Halloween attire. Costumes lined the aisles of Campus Costume preparing for Halloween.

The Festival of Ghost Stories, a Halloween-time tradition of more than 34 years, will take place at 7 p.m. Oct 26 at Bryan Park.

The festival features ghost and horror stories told by seasoned storytellers for adults, teens and older school-age children. The event may not be appropriate for younger children, according to the website.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket and dress for the weather. In the event of rain, the festival will be moved to the Monroe County Public Library Auditorium. Information on location change can be found by contacting the Community Events Hotline at 812-349-3754.

The Festival of Ghost Stories is sponsored by the Monroe County Public Library and the Bloomington Storytellers Guild, and is presented by Bloomington Parks and Recreation.
