Bloomington Creative Glass Center to have grand opening

Bloomington Creative Glass Center will have a grand opening event Oct. 6 with glass pumpkins available for purchase.

More than 900 glass pumpkins will be on preview and available for purchase at the grand opening of the Bloomington Creative Glass Center.

The grand opening of the Bloomington Creative Glass Center will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 6 at 229 W. Grimes Lane.

The glass pumpkins for sale are created by Bloomington Creative Glass Center students and volunteers. Bloomington Creative Glass Center is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring affordable, high-quality education about glass to southern Indiana, according to a press release from the company.

The grand opening will include a glass fusing workshop, tours of the facility, and glass casting demos. Visitors will be able to sign up for upcoming classes.

There will be live music from the Andy Cobine Trio, refreshments from Oliver Winery and food trucks as well as drawings and door prizes courtesy of Mother Bear's Pizza.
