Liquor bottles line the aisles of the alcohol section of Kroger Jan. 23, 2018, on College Mall Road. Indiana Senate Bill 20 gave Indiana bars access to serve alcohol outdoors, but an additional amendment to the bill would make it illegal for grocery stores and pharmacies to sell cold liquor and mixed drinks.

Pumpkins rest on the lawn of the Monroe County Courthouse on Oct. 15, 2017, as part of the Great Glass Pumpkin Patch. The Bloomington Creative Glass Center creates more than 900 glass pumpkins to sell each year, with proceeds going to support a fully-equipped hot glass arts education center in Bloomington.

Shalom Community Center, located on Walnut Street, provides resources for people experiencing homelessness and poverty. The center received a $1.1 million grant from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Director Paul Shoulberg, actor Zachary Spicer and producer John Armstrong attended the premiere of “The Good Catholic” on Sept. 17, 2017, in Bloomington. Spicer and Armstrong created the production company, Pigasus Pictures, to promote the development of the film industry in Indiana and have produced six original films.
